Getting up close with Gazanias

We have a relatively short growing season in Minnesota. That means that I’m outside every day, tending, watering, weeding, admiring, and treasuring my little garden.

There are two pots on the wall by my front steps that get full sun all day. They require flowers that can literally take the heat.

This year, I came across Gazanias, also known as Treasure Flowers and African Daisies. Jackpot! The colors range from bright orange and yellow to pink and cream.

Here’s a close-up I took last week. I love the concentric circles, the colors, the vibrancy. Even the little red bugs.

These flowers are treasures indeed.
